1984 Yamaha XT 600Z Ténéré
Minor Changes
The 1984 XT 600Z Ténéré was virtually identical to the 1983 model. In the suspension department the rear shock was given hydraulic adjustment while the front forks were fitted with spacers to provide preload as feedback on the previous model highlight soft front suspension.
Minor modifications were also made to the engine with a slight change to the camshaft to give the 595cc engine more torque at lower revs. The '84 model produced 44bhp at 6,500rpm.
The most noticable difference from the 1893 model to the 1984 were the chain adjustment snail cams. They were moved from the inside of the swingarm to the outside allowing easier adjustment. Cosmetically the frame was painted the same colour as the fuel tank and side covers.
